Expressing Motherhood

Blogging is just one way to express my experience as a mother… now I’m taking the stage in Expressing Motherhood to perform it LIVE!Expressing Motherhood Banner

Lindsay Kavet and Jessica Cribbs created Expressing Motherhood back in 2008 during their children’s naptimes. Each year they sift through submissions from the parenting trenches and choose about a dozen for the show. The stories are heartbreaking and humorous, dramatic and delightful— and they’re performed by the women who wrote them.

This year they chose eleven incredibly talented women… and me. I’m totally schvitzing.

Despite my nerves, I know this show is going to be so much fun. I hope you’ll come and stay to say, “Hi!”

Also, a portion of the profits from Expressing Motherhood go to Family Care International, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the maternal health of women worldwide.

What they’ve created is a community, a modern day village where women come together and encourage each other forward. ~Maria Shriver

I wound up in a controlled sob halfway through… [it had] everything to do with how the disconnect between what we expected from motherhood and what came to be can sometimes make us do really pathetic things. ~Madeline Holler, babble.com
