Little Sister followed in Big Sister’s book-clubbing footsteps and asked to have a book club playdate of her own. Despite my volcanic fail the week before, I agreed to host, but this time we were NOT making a cake.
And when the book is The Very Hungry Caterpillar, cake doesn’t matter. We had plenty of yummies.
apples pears plums strawberries oranges chocolate cake
ice cream cones pickles swiss cheese salami lollipops
Our centerpiece was a play-doh caterpillar. I made a cooked play-doh this time and was very pleased with the results. Check it out here.
They all loved munching their way through the Very Hungry Caterpillar’s weekly diet. If you have a Very Hungry Caterpillar Book Club party of your own, I suggest inviting many people. (We invited 4.) Even if you just buy small amounts of each food mentioned in the book, you will end up with tons of leftovers.
Fortunately, I got a shot of Smalls eating one “big green leaf” (spinach).
Then she spat it out.
Oh, well. Somehow I think she’ll still turn into a butterfly.
